about Poppy
Why we chose Education Otherwise

Poppy is an individual, as all children are however for us we knew that Poppy excels in areas that often are ignored or even frowned upon by schooling system therefore we believed Poppy would gain more education and knoweledge from a free style and totally individulised approach to learning. Due to the lack of British Sign Language within Britain we have had to Flexi - School to allow her access to education and friendships within her own language but still maintaining the freedom to learn outside the brackets imposed by school reguations. At present she may not be in the fully perfect situation but we hope to maintain an open approach so as to help her achieve her goals. Flexi - schooling is a legal option ... the child will be required by law to follow the National Curriculum whilst at school but not whilst he or she is being educated at home.
